Saturn Back with a beauty!

Saturn and their new album OuPa Pou Zanmen Regrete

Famously known locally and amongst Seychellois living abroad as ‘Saturn’ - The Payet brothers, excluding Ron this time around, is back at the top of the local music scene with another beauty, a new album entitled “Ou Pa Pou Zanmen Regrete”, which translate into, “You will never regret”.

Francis, France and Georges all formed part of the original “Saturn” band popular in the 80’s and 90’s. Their contributions to the local music scene over the years have helped in establishing their place in our national folklore. Their music will be here for all to enjoy for time immemorial. The new album is made up of 12 songs, most are new compositions. The songs are in Creole, French and English making use of all three of our national languages; no one can ever accuse these guys of being more French than Seychellois or more English than French. The blend that is Seychelles and the Seychellois is well represented in their music, “La Kreolite Seselwa”.

Georges visited our office to present us with a copy of the new album and for a short interview. He was jumping up and down with excitement. He believes, and there is no reason to doubt his enthusiasm, that they have got a few hits there, especially the title song, “Ou Pa Pou Zanmen Regrete”. Various styles and rhythm have been employed in putting the album together, zouk, reggae, moutia, sega, raga and others. Even if Ron was not involved on this particular work it did not stop it from being a family affair. The voices of sisters Maud and Miranda, currently living overseas features on a few songs, giving it the international flavor it required.

No music collection should go without an original version of this album, go out and get yours now, please don’t buy a pirated copy. These guys have put a lot of hard work in this album, sacrifices made by all in their respective family. The least they deserve is to reap the benefit of their hard work and dedication; do them justice buy only an original copy not a pirated version downloaded from the internet or copied from a computer. This is called robbery! The album is now available at the usual music outlets on Mahe, Praslin and La Digue. Saturn wishes you all happy listening and thank you for your support and loyalty over the years! “A toi mon ile”.
