St Andre Back in Operation With Chinese Fisherman

A Chinese fisherman on St. Andre

ON Monday (19/05/08) last week our journalist was at the fishing port looking for the illusive Mr. Woo for an interview on his dealings in the local fishing industry. Local fishermen are intrigue with the way Woo has penetrated the system in so short a time.

Woo a naturalized Seychellois of Chinese origin is said to be a big actor in the local banbara and shark fin industry. Woo it is said has close ties with powerful people high up at the SFA.

Woo was also involved in the recent scandal involving illegal Chinese fishermen on a boat belonging to former Commissioner of Police now National Security Advisor to President Michel, Mr. Andre Kilindo.

According to senior personnel within the Department of Internal Affairs, Kilindo was unaware of the Chinese workers on his boat.

However, our reporter looking out for Woo spotted Mr. Andre Kilindo at the domestic fishing port on Monday  19th May at 10am, when he should have been at his office working for the State. He was personally supervising the embarkation of ice and provision onboard the St Andre before setting out on a fishing trip.

On seeing our man, Kilindo made a quick exit, but we managed to take pictures of the St. Andre with at least one Chinese fisherman still onboard before it too made a run for it into the open sea.

This is a most ridiculous situation. We will not comment further. We will allow you our patrons, whom we consider intelligent, to draw your own conclusion on this matter.
