Bogus Philanthropists - Part 2

Since we are going to court next week, and just in case His Lordship Friendship sits in judgment and decides to gag freedom of expression to please a friend.

Here goes:

SO the Pasha feels so defamed that he sues... But, his own paper reprints the article in full for “the benefit of our readers”… and he also poses in an oversize suit to remind us of his generous self! What is this caricature of hubris? Narcissus throwing stones at his own reflection? (Those who are familiar with Greek mythology will recall that Narcissus was a beautiful youth, who rejected the nymph Echo, and fell in love with his own reflection in a pool. He pined away and was changed into the flower that bears his name).

Maybe the little Khalif would answer us, the people, more appropriately by cataloguing the how and when of his meteoric rise. Lay out the details, the deeds and dealings, and let the people judge. Exactly what percentage of the massive intake from the multiple businesses goes to the 'soi-disant' philanthropy?

We reiterate that gambling is a scourge on many Seychellois families and to return a minimal amount (probably tax deductible) as crumbs from your feast is definitely not true philanthropy!

Exactly what was the magic that turned a humble healer into a pompous potentate? From fakir to Maharajah in such a relatively short time? Ali Baba said 'open sesame'... what was this Midas' touch or pronouncement? In fact, such success, if legitimate, should be a national model to be emulated. O Maharajah, mentor us... share with us your magic which may save us from our daily toil against all manners of bureaucratic ineptitude and political barriers.

The thing with meteors is they shine bright for a while but that is actually the path to coming down.
