Talent show saga at Post Secondary school

A TALENT show was organized by a group of students and teachers from Post Secondary School at the Anse Royale Polytechnic theatre on Thursday, 8 May, 2008, as part of their extra curriculum activities. Many thought that the show, which was staged in the assembly hall, would end as a big success for the organizers.  Everything was going smoothly until the organizers decided it was time to throw in a little bit of politics to please the power that be. Suddenly it all went pear shape, when a group of students went on stage to perform the famous song “POUR LANMOUR SESEL”.

This is the very famous song that Jj and his entire SPPF team intended to use if ever they would have achieved a score of 25-0 in the National Assembly Elections last year. It must not be forgotten that the Democratic Party refused to accord this privilege to the SPPF, as true patriots DP set aside self interest and stood firm alongside SNP by contesting under one umbrella, the Alliance, to deny SPPF a clean swipe of all twenty-five districts.

According to a reliable source within the Anse Royale Polytechnic, things turned very sour and ugly for all the teachers present at the show from the moment the song was about to be performed.

All the spectators, which were made of post secondary students walked out of the show as a sign of protest over what was about to happen, the performance of the song, “Pou Lanmour Sesel”.

As they walked out the students shouted that they did not want politics at their schools and that the song in question is garbage in relation to the state of the country presently. “Seychelles is down, things are expensive in the shops”, they shouted.

A group even went as far as singing a well known opposition song in defiance.

Our heartfelt appreciations goes out to every single one of the students who staged the protest.

Let this be a warning to all who think they can easily poison the minds of youth with SPPF propaganda: “ZETE MANRMAY PA OULE!”
