THE 6th International Festival of Classical Music has been re-scheduled for next year due to the closing down of their resident hotel, the Plantation Resort. The professional corps, their paying Choristers and Friends of the Festival, is truly disappointed. This announcement has come about after 15 long months of intensive preparation. The objective is to galvanise the support of the rank and file of the Seychelles Interfest Symphony Orchestra (60 strong), solo artists and the London Lloyd's Choir, which Marc Sabadin is a member. Two young and talented music directors have been appointed, Benjamin Ellin and Jacques Cohen, to shape the 2009 event and beyond. The charity fund raised will go towards equipping the School of Music with plenty of choral and instrumental scores so that the students can become more proficient.
