Dr. Ramadoss and speaking the truth

THE venomous attack launched by Dr. Ramadoss is unprecedented in the history of Seychelles.  This is more so especially by a man who could not make his mark in his own homeland, India. Dr. Ramadoss left the sub-continent to travel to the Seychelles to work as a Doctor.

His work as an army physician is not marked by any accolades being conferred upon him.  In fact there is no general understanding or agreement as to the nature of Dr. Ramadoss' transition from doctor to business man.  The formula is a complex one and we await the answers that the erstwhile Doctor will provide to us in respect of his metamorphosis.  Some answers, however, lie in the line of business from which Dr. Ramados is earning his milk and honey.

The doctor is in charge of a number of casinos and gambling establishments in the Seychelles.  In fact these establishments are a monopoly.  Some people, on the other hand, who believe passionately in “Sesel pou Seselwa” and “Pou l'anmour Sesel” do not understand the logic behind Dr. Ramadoss.

Their misunderstandings are based on the following questions:

Did Dr. Ramadoss become a Seychellois and then become a businessman or did he become a business man and then become a Seychellois?  This further begs the question: did Dr. Ramados come to Seychelles as a businessman bringing much needed foreign direct investment (Foreign Exchange) to the country in the same manner as the other foreign entrepreneurs or did he do something else? (What is that something else?).

It should also be noted that Dr. Ramadoss enjoys privileges that no other true Seychellois enjoys: he is the only Seychellois to hold a monopoly on gaming institutions in the Seychelles.  He has also won a prize in India for being a businessman given this strange monopoly.

In this day of accountability, transparency, responsibility and good governance, Dr. Ramadoss should, in his own words as a “successful businessman”, explain what attributes he possesses that make him a cut above other Seychellois.  Dr. Ramadoss will probably afford the Rising Sun another front page article with answers to the above questions.  After all, Dr. Ramadoss likes helping people and is therefore best placed to help us with the truth!

Thank you Doctor.
