Dear Sir
You have hit the nail on the head with David Savy in recent articles. In an interview recently, after resigning as CEO of Air
How ironic! Isn't that what he was supposed to be doing before? If he had resigned his post at the Air Force and focussed on the job at hand, maybe the airline would have been in better shape today. I know these guys want their own airline, especially the domestic business. Obviously the time may not be right for them at this stage as it would be seen in the wrong light, especially given the fact that Francis' Zil Air’ Heli service has just been launched. But watch this development closely.
Meanwhile, we must watch the Desroches, Farquhar, Alphonse, Felicite, Silhouette and St. Anne developments very closely. We should also ask that the Government to force these companies to offer at least 25% of the houses/plots to Seychellois, in rupees. This will put some pressure on them before they sell it off to their South African friends!
Mr. Volcere, you also need to do some research on the Providence Industrial Estate, or better yet, from Maison Du Peuple all the way to the airport. It seems that all the cronies have been given a lot of plots, and some of them have plots in their names but have not been developed. Even the defunct SIDEC still has plots in its name.
We should ask the Govt. to do an exercise to take these plots back and re-tender to the public so that Govt. can raise funds for its empty coffers and at the same time give real entrepreneurs the opportunity to develop a business out there which would create real jobs for the people, especially the ones laid off recently by SMB and at the hospital.
Regards
Thomas T.
