The little family in Seychelles National Olympic Committee

AFTER having overviewed and work close to the SNOC which is now SOCGA (Seychelles Olympic and Commonwealth Games Association) I have realized that it is time to inform the federations and associations about the movement of those members on SOCGA.  It is sad to say but on their board many has got their individual ambitions and have their own interest.  Many athletes and federations have suffered under these people.  It is not necessary for a federation or an athlete to be the best of all to received high benefit from SOCGA but it is important for that federation or athlete to have good contact inside the committee where favors are granted.  To be a long lasting member you have to obey orders and do as some dictators say.  For example the Vice President has got a powerful hand on things and the Secretary-General plays the role of knowing all.  It is high time that the federations realize that they are the ones who vote those people in and they should work for all federation without preferences.  The vice president will dictate about the financial issue and will try to act as the treasurer.  Some expenses that are made are not necessary reflected to the needs of priorities and last year the financial report was not even audited.  My colleague President of federations, next time you vote, please vote for the right people because those people who hare now elected are working for only certain people.  I will put the pieces together as a hint.

Mr. A... is one of the longest supported athletes and he will continue to be granted because he is supported by Mr. Alcindor.  The second longest athletes under the scheme is Mr. H... and although he has not really improved no one can remove him out because Mr. Adam fights like crazy for him.  Last year the badminton traveled to all the competitions until they managed to collect enough points to qualify for the Olympic and this is because Mr. Michel Bau open door for his federation but on the say time denied other federations their opportunities.  Boxing has also benefited for Mr. Lespoir is there to act on their behalf.  Athletics has got the support of Mr. Dora.  There have been high-level athletes and federation which had climb high but little by little are fading because they are not really getting the necessary back up from SNOC.  We have all heard the explored of the volleyball teams but what the SNOC done to retain some of these very talented players.  I wonder if SNOC really spend the budget properly or are the members saving some cash for their own benefit for the Beijing Olympic Game.

Below is how the expenses were made during the previous Commonwealth Games.  The athletes and officials received only 500 rupees each as pocket money but Mr. Gopal the president of SNOC received 1,040 US dollars.  Mr Alcindor received also 1,040 US dollars.  Mr. Lespoir received 780 US dollars as Chef de Mission.

The wife of Mr. Alcindor is the administrative officer in the office of SNOC earning a good salary with a fine package of transport allowances but also get the benefit to travel to Big Games.  In each game a large number of SNOC committee members make the trip and many federation's technical members are left behind.  These people do not really care how athletes qualified but only want qualifications.  Many have asked question about where and how the foreign currencies are being bank and used.

It is funny to see those SNOC committee members with their large shopping luggage flying back home and even some can arranged for further visit after the big event.

I called on all federations to note that it is not a favor when you received certain equipments from SNOC but is it granted by the international body (IOC).  Next time vote for the right person on the committee especially the right secretary general. Some people fight to become a member just to fool you saying that they are benevolent, but it is not true, they all reap the strength out of the athletes for their own interest.
