Simon Sabadin excelled in Hospitality Management Course

Simon SabadinSimon Sabadin was brought up at Les Mamelles and is a product of the ex- Les Mamelles primary school, which he attended before spending two years at the NYS. After the NYS Simon went to the then Tourism School at Belombre, where for two years he studied tourism. After his studies Simon took up employment at various hotels in Seychelles to gain experience and a direct insight in his chosen field of Hotel Management.

According to Simon he chose tourism because he realized that Seychelles is a fast growing tourism destination with great potentials for further expansion and development. After accumulating a wealth of experience locally in his chosen field Simon decided that it was time to move to a higher level. He applied and was accepted to study Hospitality Management at the prestigious Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management in Austria, where he studied for his Diplomas from October 2007 to May 2008.

There were 39 students from 25 different nations attending the same course, students from all corners of the world; Asia, Europe, Africa, Pacific Island States, Caribbean Island States, Central America and the USA, etc. All studying the same modules; Hospitality Management, Restaurant Management, Food Production and German (Language), Simon was amongst only two students to achieve “Distinction” in all four modules.

Simon's achievement is no mean fit, especially now that STB is placing emphasis on training the locals to be the managers of tomorrow for the tourism industry. Simon Sabadin could well be the savior the local hospitality industry has been looking for over the years.

We wish him well!
