Another robbery at Cote d’Or

Unfortunately, we have to report another robbery at Cote d’Or, which took place last week on Wednesday. When a group of 12 visitors staying at l’Hirondelle a self catering guest house at Cote d’Or, Praslin were walking the road towards Moulinier Estate - Two ladies lagged behind the main the group, chatting and walking slowly, when a young man came out of the bush and pulled the handbag from one of the ladies. He did it with such force causing the lady to fell in a ditch and hurt herself.

This incident was reported to the police and Constable Rath promised more patrol in the Cote d’Or area. Cote d’Or is a tourism hub, there is in the evenings growing activities with souvenir shops open till 7.00pm, restaurants, ice cream shop and internet cafe, etc. This is the ideal time for visitors to go around to the shops to do some shopping or go out for dinner. They are an easy target for thieves. Security must be increased if we want tourism to continue flourishing in our country.

Crime is on the rise, during the Christmas period over thirty cars were broken into around Victoria in the evening. The Police are doing all they can to bring this situation under control. The public must also make it their duty in assisting the police in dealing with this situation.
