Seeing the back of the Aumeruddy's

After Mauritian Aboo Aumeruddy, one time Central Bank Governor, it is the turn of his younger brother, Riaz Aumeruddy to quit. He has left a top job at the Seychelles Fishing Authority, where he headed the research department.

Riaz was a recruit of former SFA chairman Glenny Savy and together they devised no shortage of projects, including one for large-scale breeding of Tilapia on Silhouette.

It is not known if  Riaz Aumerudy has already left Seychelles for Mauritius. He has been replaced at the SFA by a Briton by the name of Ian.

His older brother, Aboo, at one time was a success story, before falling out with a senior official of Corvina, who has State House connections.  Aboo was a one time confidant of ex-President Rene. During his sojourn of about two decades, he spread his tentacles far and wide and became one of the main shareholders of Corvina Investments.

Corvina is the parent company of Refuge du Pecheur, which along with Constance group of Mauritius owns the Lemuria Hotel on Praslin and is now building the Ephelia Resort at Port Launay.  Also in tourism, Corvina owns Bunson Travel and 7 degrees South travel agency and touring company respectively. It also holds Harry Savy Insurance and Mahe Shipping. Aboo have since joined his European wife in Spain. Both brothers must now be worth a few dollars more than when they first came over here.
