Welcome to Grace Barbe and her band

Grace Barbe on stage in Australia

About us

Grace Barbe, formerly lead singer with popular WA reggae band, Raggabeats,  has assembled a talented cast of musicians, consisting of bass player/guitarist/producer Jamie Searle aka Choppa Crucial, star percussionist and kit drummer Freddy Poncin and keyboard player Sally Quearly (Shangara Jive, AMC).

The band has performed just a few gigs since forming late in 2006, but are already sounding great and attracting some positive attention. The music of the band is dominated by reggae, although the influence of funk, soul and african music can be heard.

Strong songwriting is the bedrock of the bands sound. Grace Barbe and James Searle won the WAMi Song of the Year Award 2006 in the World and Folk Category for the song "Mon Ankor Anmourer"

Grace and her band are currently recording their debut release with engineer/producer Jeremy Allom
