La Belle Creole has landed!

Passengers disembarking from La Belle Creole on her maiden flight.

La Belle Creole was showered upon by the Fire Services at the Airport on its arrival to mark its first commercial flight on Saturday 8 December. The Boeing 767-200 touched down at exactly 5.15 pm local time from Johannesburg, South Africa. It is Air Seychelles’ third Boeing 767. The aircraft, which has the capacity to carry 222 passengers, has been sub-leased from a British firm until June 2010 when it will be returned to its owners.  This older aircraft will help expand the company’s regional network and increase frequency to current destinations. Mrs. Germaine Morel who won the competition to name the aircraft was in attendant to witness the arrival of the new aircraft at the Pte Larue International. She was beaming with pride and spoke in prefect French to waiting SBC journalist. La Belle Creole has a flirtatious look about her; we hope it will entice many more visitors to the islands, Good Luck!
