Letters to the Editor

It was indeed Gregoire Payet

Dear Mr. Volcere,

Thanks for your message.

During my visit, I enjoyed reading your newspaper, I have brought the copies of the last 3 weeks with me.   The paper is great and the column of Mr. Gill is amazing!

I waited to send you my message until I was out of the country for security reasons.

You can verify this account for sure. I can assure you I would not write such an email if it was not true. My reputation is very important to me. I am no clown.

Ms. Bibi at the La Digue hospital saw my wounds at around 10pm right after the incident, and many staff at the Island Lodge knew about it (but of course they were afraid to talk to me, as most people in La Digue fear -one way or another- the power of Gregoire Payet).

And if the police record protocol at the La Digue police station for that day was not ripped off, the account should be there since I saw the young officer writing it in with a red pen.

Although police will say it was not Gregoire, but if it was indeed not Gregoire, why they all acted that way? No one protects the “little guy” as they were trying to make it look like when saying “the man who did it was sent home”. Besides, I saw the man on many occasions the days after (I had to stay in La Digue for 2 weeks), and he was indeed Gregoire Payet, the man who hit me.

As I said, the majority of Seychellois are good decent people. I made very good friends I intend to keep forever. Also, your country is beautiful!

It is too bad that for now it does not appeal to me to return, but this hopefully will change overtime.

Also, I wish all the best to you all, I am very aware these are the most difficult times Seychelles has ever seen.

Thanks again and best regards,

José-Luis Preza

Question 4: promise made by the army regarding Uniform, when will the Brass band be provided with new uniform to replace this old one

Question 5:   when will the responsible remove politics from the National Brass band.

Question 6: Variation in working hours, this is a malicious Act, why were the Band members not consulted before it was changed from 8-4pm.

Please someone help the brass band save our young band because most musicians are leaving.

NB: We need to train someone who is matured and more responsible to take over the Band.

Meeting and interviewed was held by the so called Brigadier, unfortunately no reply or solution, maybe 2011.
