UNWAVERING COMMITMENT TO PEACE, NATIONAL RECONCILIATION, & DEMOCRACY

Paul CHow, DP LeaderLast week there were certain questions asked in the SPPF mouthpiece “The People” about the whereabouts of the Democratic Party leadership at the time of the Petition signing exercise at the National Assembly precincts.  The Democratic Party’s unwavering commitment to peace, national reconciliation, democracy has not diminished over the years. We have consistently reiterated our policies and programme at every given opportunity.  We adhere to capitalism, la joie de vive, law and order and respect for the Rule of Law. We deplore and condemn violence in any manner, shape or form and all perpetuators of violence.  We believe that dialogue, conciliation, tolerance, consensus consultation and mediation amongst all parties are in the national interest and in accordance with the Democratic Party’s philosophy of putting Seychelles First. It is the only way Seychelles can achieve peace, progress and prosperity. We therefore call for a cessation of all hostilities, violence and use of force in the conduct of human affairs.
