PRESIDENT VISITS PROJECTS IN NORTH MAHE

President James Michel visited housing and community projects in Glacis district on Saturday (14/10/06) as part of his programme to see ongoing projects in the districts while looking at potential ones that can be undertaken in the future. According to the Seychelles Nation of Monday October the 16th.

He was accompanied by the Minister for Land Use and Habitat, Joel Morgan and Vincent Meriton the Minister for Community Development and Youth along with top officials from their ministries. Also present was the unelected district administrator for Glacis, Gilly Anacoura. The MNA the elected representative of the people for the district Honourable Regina Alcindor did not form part the President’s entourage, she was not invited.

President James Michel must start backing his words with deeds, his office have stated numerously that the structure of State must be respected. The exclusion of Honourable Regina Alcindor from the party which toured the district of Glacis last Saturday is evidence that the most powerful man in the country after Mr. Rene (Party President) is himself not respecting the structure of State as set out in the Constitution, the supreme law of the land. Mr. James Michel must start setting the good example if he wants to compel others to do so.
