Troukler

Gran J is good at cracking Big Jokes

There has been much speculation in the rumour rag “The People” of the victory Gran J achieved in the National Assembly elections.  What they cannot tell us is whether the victory is in the National Interest.  The elections were held in the National Interest but are the results in the National Interest? If so how?  Or is the National Interest like the forex situation that Gran J says is improving but never getting any better!!!

Seychelles Strategy 2017

Troukler can officially announce that the above, like the USD 4.5 million, has disappeared.  Remember Gran J holding it upside down as an action plan for the country?  Well the results of the consultations have gone well past the due date and nobody seems interested!  The way things are going it looks like the cart is before the horse and Gran J is still planning on doing the same wrong things with even greater determination that one day he will get it right!!!   Troukler knows that when you gamble you usually quit when you’re still ahead but, what happens when you are behind?

The launch of Cat Cocos II

Troukler says all the best for the new vessels on Mahé and Praslin.  Ti j was in his element talking about private/public partnerships for the benefit of the Seychelles nation.  Why then did the footage of interviews shown by SBC of the maiden voyage not have any native Seychellois amongst the invited?  Maybe most of them will never be able to eat a buffet and drink a bottle of champagne in 45 minutes!  Troukler thinks that this is part of the SPPF’s “Promise them everything and give them nothing” plan.

A Bridge Too Far

Troukler was out and about and was surprised to see the new Cascade Bridge nearing completion.  The job is coming along fine but, leaves a bitter taste in my mouth as I can see that idle minds are at work here too.  Why is the bridge being covered with decorative stones (cladding)?  Couldn’t the contract supervisors, the architects, builders etc. etc. i.e. all the big fish see this as a useless expense? Troukler says that maybe again it is a good old way of getting a bit of the action of spending and spending without paying anything back.

How unsafe is Victoria

The Police Commissioner should start putting his money where his mouth is by making Victoria safer.  Troukler finds that you cannot take a walk between Amusement Centre and the Taxi Stand at night.  You can be attacked and calling the police is like asking for a fresh water dam.  Only your salty tears and salty water will be your recompense.  Police patrols in Victoria after 6 pm are a joke.  Troukler repeats that when the Police Commissioner sleeps, the Seychelles Police Force sleeps.  Making the Police Commissioner have mandatory night shifts may help the situation because at present the ordinary citizen pays the cost and bears the sufferings.

New Security for Schools

In the beginning of last year, 2006, the SPPF Government of James Alix Michel were shouting off the roof tops, hills and mountains that they were making all the schools in Seychelles a safer place for our children.  Security personnel were to be posted in all the schools on a 24 hour basis.  Troukler wants to know why is everyone hiding now that there are questions arising over the recent “Fer vibre _ _ _” attack in one of our schools.  Troukler believes in Gran J’s motto “Tay dan montany”
