Democrat for a reason….

Sir, I was watching TV on Sunday and SBC who was diligently following the SPPF shame train, interviewed a man who gave a most ridiculous reason for voting for the SPPF. According to him the SPUP and then the SPPF was the only party who has given him, his ancestors and will give his children the great future they deserve. He said with the SPPF he had got all he wanted.

I have only one question for him. Which other party who has been in government is he comparing the SPPF to? Surely not the SDP whose leader Mr. James Mancham was deposed by a coup after less than a year? Incidentally the SPUP was also a part of Mancham’s government which was one of National Unity, and the SPUP leader Mr. Albert Rene was the Prime Minister!

With no other government, but the SPUP/SPPF who has been in power for some 30 years that is not a serious reason for choosing to vote for the SPUP/SPPF. Yet one should not be surprised, as he is just one of the many who have been brainwashed into thinking that the SPPF are the only people who have solutions! How sad! If what he wanted was to give his children a debt burden that is in the billions of rupees before they are even of age to pay it off then I would have to declare him mentally insane!

All that is left to say is…“free yourself from mental slavery, none but ourselves can free our minds!”

Democrat for a reason…you only need to ask.

Belmont Helps All Seychellois

SIR, Vice President Belmont went on TV last year to defend Mr. Egbert Savy with all his energy before the People of Seychelles. Mr. Belmont said that Mr. Krevjir had acquired Seychellois Citizenship and was therefore entitled to all the protections afforded to any Citizen of Seychelles. At the time the Czech Government wanted to have Mr. Krevjir Alias Savy in their custody to face crimes alleged to have been committed in his country of birth, which included Extortion, Murder, and a few others.

Now Mr. Krevjir alias Egbert Savy has been arrested in South Africa and is in detention. Vice President Belmont should take the initiative, show us how he protects all Seychellois, and go to South Africa and secure Mr. Savy’s release and bring him back home safely.

In the effort of course, Mr. Belmont will have to make sure he too, is not arrested and placed in the same cell as Mr. Krevjir for Aiding and Abetting a wanted fugitive and criminal in the course of  an escape.

Mr. Belmont, Tenir ! Aid ou Dalon!

 100% Seychellois!

The people of Seychelles have decided to accept mediocrity

SIR, I just wanted to say that it is so sad that the people of Seychelles have decided to accept mediocrity. Yet as I say this, it is almost understandable, as we have all become so use to accepting it every day! We accept it of our education, our health service, our bus service and the list goes on. The Seychellois people have endorsed incompetence so we deserve whatever the SPPF has in store for us.

How else can one explain that despite telling the masses about the assault on our democracy through injuries on the Leader of the Opposition (who in many countries is of second importance to only the President or Prime minister) that they should vote SPPF? In so doing the Seychellois electorate endorsed violence and disrespect of our nascent democracy.

How does one explain that despite revealing to the nation that the majority that was the SPPF in the previous Assembly managed the feat of submitting fewer motions for discussion as compared with the Opposition that voters would vote for an SPPF MNA? Laziness has been accepted as normal.

How do you explain the scandalous revelations on SPPF Minister Morgan who is responsible for the inexplicable loss of millions of dollars (4.5) of our money having no effect on the Seychellois electorate? In many democratic countries just that would have been sufficient to swing voters, but in Seychelles we have been so conditioned to accept things as they are, it just does not translate! Seychellois voters have endorsed corruption.

How do you explain that despite every single SPPF MNA clearly stating that they will work better because they will have the ear of the government and the President in our supposedly democratic nation? On Saturday the electorate in their simple majority but a majority nevertheless, endorsed nepotism and persecution of the opposition elected members.

As if all that was not enough how does one explain the sullying of Seychelles’ name internationally through first providing citizenship through EDA to the wanted criminal that is Kredjcir, who was caught in South Africa with a passport bearing the name of a person who doesn’t exist, and all this not even making the national news, and thus hardly causing a ripple in the Seychellois conscience! On Saturday the electorate accepted the Status Quo and our leaders prostituting our Nation’s dignity to criminals.

What more can I say…we can only accept the result as we have no intention of participating in a coup, as the one of the 5th June 1977 which the majority of Seychellois will be celebrating soon. We will submit to the only persons who have the distinction of committing treason when 30 years ago they raped our virgin democracy. In so doing this past Saturday and on the 5th June 2007 we will again endorse terrorism and treason!

How many more crimes are we going to turn a blind eye to?

Sadly we can only do something about it in FOUR years time! Dare I imagine what the majority decision will be then?

Child of an Endorsed National Rape.

SPUP/SPPF: What next?

Sir - With the current election results having come in one thing is clear – James Alix Michel has a lot of shoes to fill.  He had hoped that by calling a snap election he would have made the opposition an upstart.  This would have given him the much needed space to galvanize his hold on the SPPF transforming it into his idea of what the party should look like after its current president France Albert Rene passes on the reigns of power.  The strategy did not pay off and he has five years to count the cost of such a bad strategy.  Elections results and the expectations now see SPPF at its lowest point in its history.  This situation arose only because of a gamble that has gone terribly wrong on the part of President Michel.  Rumours are rife with the millions squandered in the run-up to elections.  And, if the latter is true heads will roll in the normal course of accountability.  Party preparations were also said to have been cancelled and apparently T-Shirts with the jugular vein victory slogan 25 – 0 have had to make a hasty disappearance.  Whether these stories doing the rounds are true or not what remains to be seen is how Michel will act to salvage his credibility and lay his authority on an already deeply divided Party.
