The Fishing Industry Under The Spotlight
Sir, I wish to thank you for the interest you have shown recently in the Fishing Industry. This is the second most important industry in

2. Everybody is in charge of everything but nothing happens. Ports are under the responsibility of Seychelles Port Authority but Seychelles Fishing Authority seems to be in charge. Who is the boss? Is it the Minister, the Principal Secretary, the Chairman or the Managing Director….?
3. I do not believe that the country is getting the most for its resources. We should not be fooled by big figures provided by S.F.A. We should ask ourselves how much forex stays in the country. Instead of having more seamen on tuna vessels the number is going down.
4. What is happening to Aquaculture project proposed by Glenny Savy? Is it ever going to see the light of day?
I would like to encourage you to analyse a bit more the state of our industry.

Sir, please keep up the good work in the

IN DEFENCE OF KREYCIR!
Sir, I have been following the Kreycir saga in your esteemed newspaper for the past 3 weeks and allow me to make the following comments.
Rumours are rife that Kreycir has given several forex loans to many SPPF stalwarts in government and outside government. These people are desperate to see the back of Kreycir for them to avoid paying back those loans which, by the looks of things, they never intended to pay in the first place. I understand that Kreycir has written a book in which he stated that he gave substantial sums to the Czech government in return for business favours. As a party benefactor Kreycir became privy to sensitive information which, if revealed, may bring the Czech government down.
That is why, I believe, Kreycir would like to stay here for his own safety and security. I do not know how much money the Czech billionaire has paid the SPPF to guarantee his safety and security whilst here. However, I sincerely hope that the government, after taking Kreycir’s money, does not sacrifice him for diplomatic convenience. This would make us no different from the conman who conned Minister Joel Morgan of $4.5 million and then disppeared in thin air. Or did he really?
