56 YEAR OLD LADY ASSAULTED BY STATE HOUSE SECURITY!

Mrs. Charlette explaining the event that led to her being assaulted by the a State House security guard.

President Michel is finding it extremely difficult - to the point of futility - to keep the army of security agents (spies) he keeps at State House under control. The latest violent incident involving a State House security agent happened on Monday, 26th March, 2007, at Anse Aux Pins at around 5.30 pm - where a lady of 56 years, Marie-Andre Charlette, was assaulted by Clifford Cupidon, a well known State House (spy) security agent.

Mrs Charlette alleged that she was on her way home after visiting a local shop to buy toothpaste, when she heard the assailant verbally insulting someone. After a little while she realised that it was her son who was being insulted by a man she identified as Clifford Cupidon, aka ‘Buckie’, her next door neighbour. Mrs Charlette told our reporter that she intervened and appealed to her son to go on home when she was struck in the face by Cupidon. The first blow to her head made her dizzy, she said, and then she was struck again in the head which caused her to topple over. She said she managed to stop herself falling straight away into the ditch nearby, by grabbing and holding on to a tree trunk. She eventually fell over and had to crawl away on her knees to get away from her attacker, who continued to assault her while she was down.

Days later, the bruises were still very visible on her legs and back when our reporter visited her at her home at Anse Aux Pins, on Wednesday. “This man has taken my pride and dignity away from me, he has beating me up like this on the main road in public view in front of several witnesses.” Mrs Marie-Andre Charlette, said with tears rolling in her eyes.  It is a well known fact, she said, that everyone at Anse Aux Pins who knows her that she and her husband are fervent supporters of SPPF. However, she pointed out, this is not a political issue in her own mind, except that she wanted to expose the rogue and “criminal” elements of our society working at State House security, with the clear knowledge of  President James Michel.

For a long time now there have been many allegations of security agents based at State House beating or assaulting members of the public after minor arguments. There have also been allegations to the police of conspiracy to commit murder by some of these security agents.  However, we have been told on good authority that most police investigations of these allegations have been frustrated by obstructions from above, virtually making these rogue individuals a law unto themselves.

State House security agents are identified generally by the bulges under their shirts which they always wear outside their trousers. They often do not hesitate to pull out a gun from under their shirt to threaten people. They are known to boast of the fact that they can beat people up but then claim that their victims have insulted them first. They are always given, not only the benefit of the doubt, but also credence for their actions under former   President Rene and now under President Michel. “This is how we get away with beating people up,” they are known to have boasted.

President Michel will have to deal with these thugs before they become an international embarrassment to our country. God forbid they murder a visitor to this country. Clearly they have become a law onto themselves and know no limit to their brutality. They torture, kill, insult verbally and abuse people physically at will but never so far brought to justice.

The police at Anse Aux Pins have since confirmed to this newspaper, however, that an investigation is ongoing on the incident. But it is clear that the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Gerard Way-Hive, must take personal responsibility and order a thorough investigation into this incident. There should be no cover up by the police as it has been the case in several other matters involving State House security agents and other incidents involving private security firms acting on the orders of State House. Enough is enough Mr. President!
