THE LATE MAX MAUREL SAGA CONTINUES…..

“Now try me, make my day in court!”

Nadia Maurel, former wife of the late Max Maurel.

I was married to Max Maurel for a few years and I feel the need to set the records straight in regards to a number of things that Gerard Maurel said in his response to an article that appeared in Le Nouveau Seychelles Weekly, 16th February, 2007, entitled, “GERARD MAUREL – “This is a true and honest state of affairs.”

Points 1 and 2 addressed by Gerard are entirely true, but the second paragraph of point 3 of “This is a true and honest state of affairs” is entirely untrue save for the part that says that L’Islette Island was sold to Mrs. Geers. Because Gerard Maurel collected the SR 20,000 per month for the lease on condition that the money he collected would be paid in to Max’s account in Mauritius through Gerard’s UK account. I have documentary proof of this.

Point 4 is partly true. Yes, Max did transfer those two properties to Gerard on condition that SR. 1.3 million would be transferred to Max’s account in Mauritius from Gerard’s UK account, but this never happened. Point 5 is true and I know nothing about points 6 and 7.

Point 8 is a total lie. The container was destroyed by fire in Mauritius and Gerard collected the insurance money from Mahe Shipping. I know nothing about points 9 and 10.

Point11 is not true at all. Gerard has never helped or assisted Max and his family in anyway whatsoever. All he did was take from his brother. When I say “take” I mean like the 2 properties he never paid for. When Max sold his car here in Seychelles the money was given to Gerard on the understanding that the money would be transferred to Max’s account in Mauritius through Gerard’s UK account, again this did not happen.

Regarding the death of his brother, Gerard never paid a cent to bring back his body for burial over here. It was Mrs. Mary Geers who made a telegraphic transfer that day i.e. 4th March 1999 through Barclays Bank Seychelles to MCB Mauritius. In response to Gerard’s saying that he paid for the burial expenses I personally would like to tell you Gerard Maurel your exact words to me on the morning I called you telling you that Max had died and I needed money to bring him back to Seychelles. Your words were “bril sa liki son maman zet li laba.”

Finally I have this to say “Even his full stop is a lie” I am also telling you Gerard “you threaten people with court action all the time now try me make my day in court.”

Thanks for the space.

Nadia Maurel
