ENVIRONMENT DISASTER IN THE CENTRE OF
President James Michel spoke about the need to do more for the environment in his Address on the National Day, 18th June, 2007 . It is clear that generally the environment in the last few years have been neglected on a scale that is unacceptable. The above “septic tank” between the Post Office, the Museum and the grand office of the Minister of Finance ruptured over two weeks ago releasing contaminated toilet water with human waste into the river which runs between Gordon Square and the Development Bank of Seychelles (DBS). Our picture was taken yesterday, Thursday, 21/06/07. The problem has not been attended to and the contamination of the environment continues. No-one it seems in this government is taking any notice of what President Michel is saying………
