LIES UPON LIES UNCOVERED BY SPPF

SIR, kindly allow me a little space in your esteemed news paper to comment on the previous editions of the People rag bag as it discussed the now infamous events of October 3rd. The SPPF in the People on many occasions and in many news items on TV and the National Assembly went to  great lengths to suggest that the assembly at the national Library on the 3rd October was a disorderly one with sometimes hundreds and even thousands of people acting disorderly. The People Rag bag of July 26, 2007, this week carries a portrait taken at the time on its front pages. The regular Police are observing near by in uniform, quite calmly seeing the SNP leadership speaking very plainly and in a very non aggressive manner to less than a hundred people gathered attentively to hear the words. Not a hint of aggression, not a hint of violence, not a hint of disorder. I do pray that they made this photo available to the Honourable Judge Riley in his investigation. I think it is significant that their own photo proves once and for all, the lies upon lies that the SPPF will not hesitate in dissipating to invent a reason to perpetrate violence upon a peaceful Seychellois population. The same violence Albert Rene and James Michel are famous for since they and the armed wing of the SPUP are responsible for committing acts of arson, bombing and the ultimate theft of power by using the barrel of a gun to rob a nation and its people of its liberty, freedom and la joie de vivre only to impose an alien communist system on us. The result of this evil deed is total economic ruin, chaos, murders, disappearances, unlawful imprisonment without trial, torture, rape etc….

THE OFFICE OF THE SPEAKER IS A PUPPET OF THE EXECUTIVE!

SIR, please allow me a few space in your paper to express my disgust with regards to the way the Speaker is allowing his office and the House to be used as a puppet of the Executive.

The Speaker is supposed to be the Head of the National Assembly and as such he should be in a position to regulate the affairs of his office and the House. By allowing the Executive to manipulate and interfere in regulating the affairs of his office and the House,  it goes to show that he is a very very weak Speaker and does not deserve to be in that post.

The House, anywhere in the world regulates its own affairs even if Messrs. Potter, Rose and others tried very hard to mislead the House and the public at large that it is otherwise. Finally, I would like to call on Speaker Herminie to please do not allow the Executive to impede on our Democracy. He would do Seychelles and our Democracy a favour by removing himself from this august office.

“EDUCATING LITTER BUGS”

Sir, with reference to your article in Seychelles Weekly dated July 20th regarding litter (Joel Morgan taking job seriously) and the fact that some people need educating to instill into them a sense of responsibility regarding litter.  I live on a main road out of Victoria South bound.  Opposite my house there are a set of STAR rubbish bins.  I noticed for some months that somebody was leaving one or sometimes two bags of dirty pampers on the ground behind the bins, albeit that the bins were empty and the lids open.  At night stray dogs seem to get pleasure in strewing them all over the road.  You can imagine the mess in the mornings.

I watched for several weeks to try and see the culprit, then one evening I saw a young school age girl leave two bags behind the empty bins. I went over to her and very politely asked her to place the bags in the bins and explained why.   She smiled, picked them up put them in the bins and walked away.  Two days later they were put on the floor again behind the bins.

The same girl come down, looked around to see if I was around and as my car was not in the drive, she dropped the two bags of dirty pampers and take away boxes on the ground behind the open bins and walked away.  If my car is in the drive, she drops the bags and runs away.  It is my firm belief that she spoke to her parent after I first spoke to her, who probably told her to take no notice of me, it is none of my business and even encouraged her to carry on doing it.  So now I just pick them up myself when I see them hoping she might see me do it and feel guilty.

This just goes to prove that the article last week in Le Nouveau Seychelles Weekly is correct in saying that some students need educating on this subject, but not just the students some parents also.  I say some, because there are many responsible students and parents.
