Ah-Mane’S Antics

SIR, Percy Ah- Mane is plying his trade of wiping the piles “ta- ta “ of his paymasters in exchange for his monthly ‘lollipop’ in the Independent. There is no limit to which evil men... will ply... their evil trade.

Since the Public is not buying the Independent much these days, it is not worthwhile to respond to Percy’s whining and immature imbecile, childish attacks.

It is suffice to advise the Public that Mrs. Writer, Rene and others have taken refuge behind Percy’s rag and are now counting on him and Popip as a decoy, to clean their dirty laundry. As irony would have it, today, when Percy writes, it Rene and Mrs. Writer applauding. His work is to their credit.

We must all pray for Percy and his Family.

For the Love of Seychelles

SIR, Ansanm Pour Lanmour Sesel, the theme for our country from our President this year.  In just three weeks our national athletes are taking part in a major event in Madagascar.  This event comes around every four years and for the sportmen and women this is a dream. Their goal is for them to give their best for the love of the motherland.  So they would expect maximum support from their country.

Sorry to dissapoint you guys, you will just have to do this on your own.  To this day nothing has been done in terms of an attempt to get supporters to the game.  You would think the Sport Minister or whoever is in charge would have had something in place by now to give our athletes at least a chance to take their fellow countrymen /women  with them. However, no provision is being made to accomadate supporters who are willing to go to the game.  There are no flights to go directly to the venue except for one place to take the athletes and the officials and that itself is full and some have to go via Mauritius.  We the supporters will have to go the same way, Seychelles/Mauritius/madagascar. We will have to pay in forex in Mauritius for the Mauritius/Madagascar leg of the journey. The US$400 you get from the bank will just barely pay for half of your flight.  Then your time in Madagascar and accomodation I suppose you can live wild..

Doesn’t anybody up there in charge understand and realise that in order to achieve one must have the backing and support of others, or are they themselves not comfortable in their post that they couldn’t care less about anyone else.  Couldn’t someone perhaps suggest laying on a charter flight to take supporters to the game and back? Isn’t that what other countries do when their National Sports Teams go to take part in a major sport events.  After all, Madagascar is only 2 hours away.  Watch the faces of those same officials upon the return of our athletes.  You will see them grinning from ear to ear as if they really mean it. They will glorify our boys and girls as if to say we were all behind you. But in reality, nothing could have been far from the truth.  We the supporters, we will have to find our own way to get to the game in order to give them some support. It is going to cost us all the U$400 we get from the bank. This is just to pay for half of the fare.  So Ministers are you listening? Please do something for our athletes “For The Love of Seychelles” or, if not,  “POU LANMOUR SESEL”.  Otherwise boys and girls, you will have to do it all by yourselves for the love of the words of our President favourite theme.

Ansanm pour lanmour Sesel.  So much for patriotism.

A sad group of supporters having been let down by our government obviously not for the love of Seychelles
