Kreijir Anxious To Change His Name!

Radova Kreijir seeking to chnage his name.

Speculation is rife that Radovan Kreijiir may quit Seychelles for good soon.  This has come about after his house was searched and ransacked by the Seychelles Police. His body guard was later arrested and detained for illegal possession of arms and ammunition.  On Wednesday afternoon Radovan Kreijir, through his lawyer France Bonte, made an unusual application to the Supreme Court asking the Judge to direct the Director General of Immigration to issue him, his wife and child with new Seychelles passports under new names.

According to reliable sources Radovan Kreijir and his wife and child have all by deeds of poll, executed before Notary France Bonte, assumed new names.  Radovan Kreijir has taken the name “Richard Abel Paul Daniels”. During the hearing of his application on Wednesday afternoon before Judge Gaswaga,  Mr. Ronny Govinden, Principal State Counsel, objected to the application and argued that Mr. Radovan Kreijir’s application to have his name changed is illegal under our laws.

The court has reserved its ruling on the application.  According to legal opinion sought and obtained by this paper the procedure adopted by Kreijir’s lawyer for obtaining a change of name is unknown to our laws and Radovan Kreijir may have been wrongly advised. Experts have opined that when a specific procedure exists under our Civil Status Act for change of names applications, the court should not adopt the Laws of England; something which Mr. Bonte had requested the court to do.

It appears from Kreijir’s latest move that he may have apparently fallen out of favour with his former friends at State House. It is rumoured that Kreijiir has become a nuisance to the government and they in turn are anxious to see the back of him.

Meanwhile Kreijir has begun to explore new possibilities to ensure his safety and security from his enemies who may want to get rid of him altogether. It is not a secret that Kreijir is wanted by Czech authorities for alleged criminal activities there. Kreijir was up to now confident that he has found a safe haven in the Seychelles.  However, his continued presence in our country has led to international embarrassments to the Government of Seychelles and for these reasons it is rumoured that the Government may secretly planning a way to surreptitiously ditch the unsuspecting Kreijir.
