2007 is an election year

The National Assembly election is due for a date before November 2007 and as it has now become customary, every year in January, for the Voters Register to be open for inspection in the districts throughout the country until the 28th January.

It is your democratic right, and above all, a constitutional duty to be involve in the electoral process of the country. Make it your responsibility to go in at your respective districts to verify and make sure that your name is actually on the Voters Register - don’t take it for granted, even if it was there for the last election. 

You are eligible to participate in the coming election if you are a citizen of Seychelles; you are 18 yrs of age or above and you are a person on the electoral roll. To get your name included onto the electoral roll: you must reside in one of the electoral districts in the country and you must not have registered in any other district, you are not serving a prison sentence exceeding six months imposed by a court in Seychelles, you have not been declared mentally incapacitated or is in criminal custody, your 18th birthday falls in the 15 month after the 1st January, 2007.

Registration is now taking place at the following locations in the country, Monday to Friday from 3pm to 6pm. During the weekends, Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 2pm: Anse Aux Pins at the Primary School – Anse Boileau at the Community Centre – Anse Etoile at the Crèche – Anse Royale at the Secondary School and at the Police Station - Au Cap at Lenstiti Kreol and at the Pointe Au Sel Crèche – Beau Vallon at the Crèche – Baie Lazare at the Crèche – Baie Ste Anne at the School – Bel Air at the Community Centre – Bel Ombre at the Community Centre – Cascade at the Community Centre – English River at the School – Glacis at the School and at the North East Point Rehabilitation Centre – Grand Anse Mahe at the Grand Anse School and La Misere School – Grand Anse Praslin at the Community Centre – La Digue at the District Administrator’s office – Les Mamelles at the Crèche – Mont Buxton at the La Rosiere School – Mont Fleuri at the National Institute for Education – Plaisance at the District Administrator’s office – Port Glaud at the School – Pointe Larue at the School – Roche Caiman at the Plaisance Primary School – Saint Louis at the Belonie School (old St. John Bosco) – Takamaka at the Community Centre.

And for all districts during working hours, 9am to 12noon and 1pm to 6pm, at the Electoral Commissioner’s office, Aarti Chambers, Room 203, Mont Fleuri. Aarti Chambers is situated opposite the Botanical Garden between Progress House (DP HQ) and The Qeau De Quincy Building (Ministry of Foreign Affairs).
