iMEDIA TO PUBLISH NEW TELEPHONE DIRECTORY

A local advertising company, iMedia Seychelles Limited, has been contracted to publish and supply the new Seychelles telephone directory for the next five years. The 2007/2008 edition which will be made available in July 2007 will combine telephone number entries from Airtel, Cable & Wireless, Intelvision and Kokonet customers.  iMedia (Seychelles) Limited is a subsidiary of VCS (Pty) Limited, a professional company that has been serving the Seychelles Information Technology sector for the past 15 years.

The Seychelles telephone directory has over the years been widely used by individuals, businesses and the public sector alike.  Owing to greater demand by the telecommunication operators and the public in general, iMedia will be printing approximately 40,000 copies of the directory.  This will give an excellent marketing opportunity for local businesses and organisations to advertise and promote their brands, products and services.  The new directory will offer a wide range of advertising options, including full-colour, yellow pages, banners, logos and other exciting options to cater for everyone’s budget.

A global internet and web marketing presence will also be made available through a free business entry on Seychelles’ first Online Yellow Pages Website www.yellowpages.sc for clients that are featuring adverts or yellow page entries in the new directory.  iMedia plans to launch its Online Yellow Pages website in 2007 to coincide with the delivery of the new directory.  “The Seychelles Directory will be published in July of every year”, iMedia’s General Manager Gilbert Lebon told reporters.  “But the online directory will be updated on a daily basis so as to include new customers as they are added by the telecommunication operators”.

The next phone book shall be of a similar layout and the same high quality as previous years’ editions.  While the format will change slightly, the book will continue to feature Government pages, maps, information about Seychelles, as well as White and Yellow Pages.

In order to deliver a professional directory on time, iMedia’s Project Manager Mrs. Elaine Suleman is calling on all businesses that would like to:

1. feature in a full colour or yellow page advert

2. include a yellow page business entry

3. update their existing yellow page entry details such as name, address, contact details and website information  to forward their request and details to the iMedia contact details given below.  The submission deadline is 15th January 2007.

“This project is particularly challenging as we have to work with four different telecommunication operators to compile the directory information.  It is also the first time that an online yellow page service will be launched.  This will be a valuable search engine for customers, but more importantly, it will serve the needs of new businesses that start operating after the directory is printed”, Mrs. Suleman told reporters.  “We look forward therefore to the cooperation of the Seychelles business community as this will help us to deliver a much needed professional directory in mid-2007”.
