ISOLA BELLA APOLOGISES TO MARYSE BERLOUIS

The Isola Bella has apologised to Maryse Berlouis in their December 2006 issue, we reproduce the apology below as it appeared in their Issue No: 12. The apology has been extended, it seems, as an after thought to Percy Ahmane.

Isola Bella Apologses

On behalf of Le Nouveau Seychelles Weekly I would also like to apologise to Mrs Berlouis for reporting on the story in a recent Issue of our Publication. It happened as a result of the article in the Isola Bella. As the Editor I would like to personally apologise for any inconvenience and anguish our reporting might have caused to Mrs Berloius.

However the apology is not extended to Percy Ahmane. Apparently it was the man who perceives to be invisible who started the rumour in the first place. And to that I say “good on you”, mate!

As far as the Isola Bella goes it shows that despite having access to all corners of government and everything at their disposal (provided to them by their backers at State House), they still went ahead and published a story without checking on the facts.

Papers like the hapless “Independent” and Isola Bella are known to have invented stories to improve sluggish sales of their paper. Let us hope that this does not become an unhealthy habit.

The question that many are asking is this: Was it done in perseverance of the truth or in serving a purpose?
