‘STEEL PULSE’ PERFORM LIVE IN SEYCHELLES

SPONSORED BY GUINNESS

The legendary reggae group, STEEL PULSE, performed to a capacity crowd on Wednesday at the Pepe Discotheque.  The show was the first of two live concerts planned for the group in Seychelles. The band’s first appearance at Pepe Discotheque will be followed by their mega concert at ‘Stad Lanmizik’ on Saturday 13th May.

GUINNESS is sponsoring the total costs of the concerts and Seychelles Breweries Limited (SBL) has announced that 10% of the concerts’ proceeds will be donated to charity.

Reggae fans are reported to be thrilled with the group’s arrival, for it has been some time since they have had the privilege of seeing such reggae legends live in Seychelles; Joseph Hill and CULTURE were the last to perform here, and that was in December 2003.

The members of STEEL PULSE are: David Hinds (writer, lead vocals, rhythm guitar and percussion), Selwyn Brown (keyboards and vocals), Alvin Ewin (bass) and Clifford Moonie Pusey (lead guitar) backed by a kicking 8-piece band. In 1993, at the request of the Clinton Administration, STEEL PULSE became the first reggae band ever to perform during the inaugural festivities in Washington DC.

The organisers have also announced that food and drinks will be on sale in ‘Stad Lanmizik’. The concert which will start at 9:00 p.m. will be  strictly for persons of 18 years old and above.
