The latest work of Alain St. Ange

The ecent book by Alain St Ange“Alain St. Ange the son of Karl St. Ange from La Digue”, this is what most people will tell you as soon as you mention the name of Alain St. Ange. It has been a quick way of establishing the identity of someone here in Seychelles for years, but with the ever changing population sadly it is becoming more and more difficult to do so. Alain has politics in his blood passed to him by the great Karl St. Ange and his grandfather.

This latest work is a book mostly about public demonstration and strikes, especially during the colonial days and just after independence. This book will help greatly in educating the younger generation on what took place all these years ago. Mr. France Albert Rene was an expert in organising demonstrations, strikes and other public manifestations. He did so without hindrance and interference from the police or anybody else; Albert was free to protest. Sadly the tolerance which existed then is not tolerated in modern Seychelles; it is viciously curtailed, as irony would have it, by the party of Albert Rene himself.

Alain has done a marvelous job; we are all so grateful to him for this brilliant piece of imagination. Congratulations and good luck Alain.  ‘Le Nouveau Seychelles Weekly wishes you and your family well!
