Stephanie Duval was crowned Miss Regatta 2007 last Saturday at the ICCS. The event was organised by the Seychelles Round Table; it saw the participation of ten other contestants. The event was sponsored by Inter-Island Boats, owners of the Cat Cocos high speed ferry between Mahe and Praslin.
Stephanie, 18, is a student at the Seychelles Institute of Technology (SIT). According to Stephanie she was shocked to have won; “I know that I had a chance to win a prize but not for once did I believe I was going to walk away with the crown,” she said.
The big sister of Miss Solana Domingue (Miss Seychelles Islands 2007), Nathalie Domingue, was voted Miss Photogenic. Marie-Brigitte Sopha walked away with best evening wear and the title of second mermaid. Miss Urshulla Perault was crowned first princess.
Christophe Hoareau, the reigning President of the Round Table, said that one of the attributes required of Miss Regatta is the ability to promote the cause of his organisation and to cope under pressure; virtues he said Miss Regatta 2007, Stephanie Duval possesses.
