Caught Between A Rock And A Hard Place
Dear Sir
We are now in dire straits and literally caught between a rock and a hard place. So at this point bringing in the IMF may be our only solution. It is clear that our president and his government have run out of tricks of how to “duck and dive” the inevitable and they do not have a plan B with which to get us out of this sorry mess – they have landed us in.
Whatever they decide amongst themselves let us hope that the people are kept informed of what is going on as should have been the case with everything they have done in our names. People should have been sensitized about the hard road ahead but in our country it seems that ignorance is bliss and our leaders assumed that what we do not know cannot hurt us. Mr. Editor, it will and we have already started to feel the pain due to mismanagement of the economy by our government.
Some people may want to behave like ostrich and bury their heads in the sand, but many of us, are following closely what is going on in our country. We all want Seychelles to find a way out of the economic crisis and the sooner measures are taken in that direction, the better it will be for all of us. We hope they will see the light for all our sake!! “Judge me by my actions”. President Michel – 04 April 2004.
