All ministries, government departments and parastatals organizations are being urged to play their part in a cleaner and waste free Seychelles by recycling all their waste paper from the office.
This can be done by shredding and packing all waste paper in a separate container which will then be collected by the Navin’s Paper Recycling Company for recycling.
In a circular memo sent to all ministries and parastatals, the Minister for Environment, Natural Resources & Transport, Joel Morgan, said that the move stems from a decision taken by the Cabinet of Ministers on July 18, 2007 that all government departments and parastatal organizations should engage in the Seychelles Waste Free Campaign by initiating a waste paper collection programme for recycling within their respective organizations.
The memo says that the Environment Department as well as organizations have already started supplying the company with all their waste paper.
It adds that ministries and parastatals can contact Jason Jacqueline on telephone number 722320 for further guidance in the setting up of collection points and best practices in storage of waste paper.
Mr. Jacqueline is working in close collaboration with the company to facilitate the process on behalf of the Environment department.
