Captain David Savy finally pays Captain Williamson
Air Seychelles has finally paid Captain David Williamson his compensation after over three years delay. Le Nouveau Seychelles Weekly published the story a few weeks ago with a follow up thereafter. The crux of this case was whether the Court would be prepared to send Captain Savy to prison for failure to comply with a Court Order, the same way that Paul Chow was threatened when he refused to pay debt of a company. In a normal case the court, presided over by Judge Karunakaran, lifted the corporate veil and extended liability of a company to its directors and shareholders personally. Paul Chow has appealed against the said judgment. David it seems did not want to wait and find out whether the Court would apply the same principle in the Air Seychelles case and threatened him with imprisonment if he does not pay the debt of Air Seychelles personally. A cheque was promptly sent to Captain Williamson’s lawyer last week in full and final settlement of the case bringing an end to this saga.
